Straps Australia Spiral Thigh Brace Client PS has Benign Joint Hypermobility Disorder. Hypermobility Disorders are connective tissue disorders which cause increase tissue extensibility. They are characterized by ligamentous laxity, a propensity for bruising, poor scarring, joint pain, greater incidence of growing pains, sprains and strains and many small bruises in various stages of healing in "high contact" areas such as shins and forearms. Client PS has good coordination however some children with hypermobility have poor coordination. Client PS was 9 years old at the time of the footage. He had a profoundly pigeon toed gait with walking and running. His parents were concerned for his safety in playground activities because he was tripping over frequently when running at speeds. The child was concerned that the feet position was affecting his sporting performance and he was also feeling self conscious of the way he walked as he was getting older. He was more tired at the end of the school day than his peers and was complaining of pain in his shins at night. PS has ligamentous laxity in the hips causing excessive internal rotation of the hips. He also had weak gluteus medius muscles, tight hamstrings and over-pronated (flat) feet.
