Even though, sometimes the training seemed impossible, I never really doubted my choice. I think that every person needs to be healthy physically and spiritually. Martial arts pave the way for it. Students participate in dance classes ranging from beginner to advanced in Jazz and Ballet. Tap, Flamenco and other styles of dance are often incorporated into performances. The majority of classes are offered in the afternoon hours during the sports period from 3 PM to 6 PM. Students may take dance to fulfill the sports requirement or it may supplement participation in another sport. Dance performances are a regular feature of the dance program.

Moshe Ganchoff 1905 - 1997 "The Cantors' Cantor" Gleaned from many sources (Reprinted from JSM Vol 217 April 2011) Until the very end of his long career, Moshe Ganchoff represented our last connection to the style that earned hazzanut of the early 20th century the sobriquet: Golden Age. He was born in Odessa and emigrated as a young child with his parents to the United States. He received his early hazzanic training in Toledo, Ohio, to which several Odessa-trained cantors had gravitated: Simon Zemachson, Mendel Shapiro and Aryeh Leib Rutman, among them. In his teens he moved to New York for the purpose of studying with Joshua Lind, Jacob Rapaport, and Mordechai Hershman. In 1944 he succeeded David Roitman as cantor at Manhattan's Shaare Zedek on West 93rd Street. In 1957 he was engaged by Grossinger's Hotel in the Catskill Mountains resort area of upstate New York for all major holidays. This allowed him to guest-officiate and concertize widely, as well as to teach and compose. Over a period of 25 years he was featured in a weekly radio program on the Jewish Daily Forward's station, WEVD, and for each show he wrote a new composition. Emotion Band is a six-member cover group formed in 1985 by Miroslav Boyadzhijski who with his higher musical education and professional skills has made it one of the most successful bands. The weather today had dropped to the lowest it had been since I was here. I was wearing dark black jeggings with a gray wool sweater that had a single black bat on it. I had thought about wearing a jacket but I forgot, so now I was spending the school day freezing. I was sitting in English, looking out at the sky from the windows. "As you all know, we have been studying various poems over the past week, so your assignment will be to compose a poem, no more than five lines. To some of you, this might be a challenge, and to others, an escape from really putting effort into this. Rambo Amadeus (Serbian Cyrillic: Рамбо Амадеус, born June 14, 1963 in Kotor, Montenegro, SFR Yugoslavia) is the stage name of the Belgrade-based Montenegrin singer-songwriter Antonije Pušić, popular all over the former Yugoslavia. A self-titled "musician, poet, and media manipulator" continues to be one of the most interesting phenomena on music scene(s) of the former Yugoslavia. His songs combine satirical lyrics on the nature of common people and silliness of local politics. He uses a mixture of musical styles (converging towards drum and bass in later works, but involving a lot of turbo-folk elements in earlier songs), and self-conscious ironic wit (for example, one of his aliases is "Rambo Amadeus Svjetski Mega Car" (RASMC) — "Rambo Amadeus World Mega Emperor"). His stage name itself is made from John Rambo and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Regarding the second question I have the feeling that art in its evolution, has almost lost all content relating to its original purpose, the reason for which art was created in the first place, if it was created for something and by somebody in particular? To speak of information or beauty in art for many today sounds *decadent* or *archaic*...., their remains almost nothing of the art of yesterday in creativity today, possibly only the name, ART. In this second reflection, two strong tendencies are unified inside me:- the first, the impossible illusion to return to the *renaissance* or to the *baroque*, and the second, to assume the responsibility of the *contemporary* in me, with the understanding, sad or not, that I probably form part of *cynisism* that is breathed today in the art. The Focus College Select Camp is a dynamic one-day camp featuring college coaches from a variety of Division I schools. It differentiates itself from traditional camps by placing athletes with college coaches for a significant period of time, giving each athlete optimal exposure. The college coach spends each 2 hour block with a small group of around 13 athletes, running them through a practice of the coach's design and coaching them in a full-field game. Each athlete spends a 2-hour block with 4 different college coaches over the course of this one day camp. Athletes learn about different field hockey systems, styles of play and hockey skills from the perspective of each college coach. Small groups ensure that every athlete receives individual attention and the opportunity to ask questions. Born in the slums of Hong Kong, Marvin Quon was introduced to martial arts at a young age. He grew up watching the local kung Fu schools battle it out on the roof tops and in the temple near the high school where he went in his neighborhood. Most of the battles were between the local Choy Lee Fut and Wing Chun schools of which the young, and yet undiscovered, Bruce Lee actively fought for his school run by the famous Yip Man. Marvin realized at a young age that it was necessary to commit to a school and study or be at the mercy of street fighters, and without any support structure to back him up. An uncle, without the knowledge of his parents, introduced Marvin to Master Do Sang a local and highly regarded Choy Lee Fut teacher. Marvin, although he was one of the youngest students, committed himself totally to the rough training schedule that was common in the Hong Kong school at the time. Although he was too young to participate, he used to watch his older school brothers battle it out on the local rooftops. From this he learned a lesson that has influenced his training ever since. All the camaraderie, hard training, tedious sets and just plain fun were secondary to the fact that what he was learning had to work, had to win fights; And this was tested daily against older school brothers and on the streets. The layout and decoration of the Convento De Cristo and its church contain the numerous architectural styles and works of art of various periods. The Knights of the Order of Christ contributed to the final expulsion of the Moors, the liberation of the country and the creation of the Portuguese monarchy. The stabilization of power soon led to the rise of Portugal as an influential nation of seafarers and explorers. In the 15th century, the Knights of the Order of Christ played a significant role in the country's development. The convent's circular building, the charola, was decorated with the jeweler of the 16th century. It was originally inspired by Romanic-Byzantine style that dates back to the days of the Knights Templar. The Convento De Cristo, even to the present day, is full of both historical and religious appeal.

Roman Architecture (HSAR 252) Professor Kleiner discusses domestic architecture at Pompeii from its beginnings in the fourth and third centuries BC to the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79. She describes the plan of the ideal domus italica and features two residences that conform to that layout. She then presents the so-called Hellenized domus that incorporates elements of Greek domestic architecture, especially the peristyle court with columns. Virginia based Christian Rock Band Stereoreel performing "Sound you Trumpets" at Fandana Festival in Indiana. Stereoreel is a Christian rock'n'roll worship band that began as a personal project of Caleb Nei in the basement of his townhouse. Inspired by the life and psalms of King David, and energized by the innovative worship music of the time, Caleb set out to begin writing worship songs that explored the more creative boundaries of music and lyrics, while incorporating the sounds of the instrument he grew up on - the piano. In 2002, he began to write many of the songs that would eventually become the Save Me EP. With the help of drummer Dustin Martin, who Caleb met on a jazz gig, they began to record these songs with various friends. They traveled to the home studio of Doc Holladay in Nashville during 2007 to put the finishing touches on the EP. Shortly after returning home, Caleb's brother-in-law, Seth Dean, moved back to Winchester from Nashville, following God's calling in his life to help mix the album and eventually to join the band as the guitar player, while continuing to help with much of the band's recording endeavors. As the composer explains: "The musicians are called upon to scream in terror, dress like Elvises (Elvi), and play in about thirty different styles from mambo to cheesy lounge music. It has been played on the steps of the Capitol by the United States Marine Band, by the Scottish National Wind Symphony (they play in kilts, so help me God), and I have video of a Japanese audience visibly confused and shaken by the whole experience. Moshe Ganchoff 1905 - 1997 "The Cantors' Cantor" Gleaned from many sources (Reprinted from JSM Vol 217 April 2011) Until the very end of his long career, Moshe Ganchoff represented our last connection to the style that earned hazzanut of the early 20th century the sobriquet: Golden Age. He was born in Odessa and emigrated as a young child with his parents to the United States. He received his early hazzanic training in Toledo, Ohio, to which several Odessa-trained cantors had gravitated: Simon Zemachson, Mendel Shapiro and Aryeh Leib Rutman, among them. In his teens he moved to New York for the purpose of studying with Joshua Lind, Jacob Rapaport, and Mordechai Hershman. In 1944 he succeeded David Roitman as cantor at Manhattan's Shaare Zedek on West 93rd Street. In 1957 he was engaged by Grossinger's Hotel in the Catskill Mountains resort area of upstate New York for all major holidays. This allowed him to guest-officiate and concertize widely, as well as to teach and compose. Over a period of 25 years he was featured in a weekly radio program on the Jewish Daily Forward's station, WEVD, and for each show he wrote a new composition. The following appeared in his obituary: If it seems strange that a cantor, even a lyric tenor known for his breathtaking improvisations, would be a headline attraction at a Catskills resort, it is at least partly because there has been a striking decline in the everyday appreciation of the timeless subtleties of Jewish liturgical music.
