Virginia based Christian Rock Band Stereoreel performing "Spread the News" at Fandana Festival in Indiana. Stereoreel is a Christian rock'n'roll worship band that began as a personal project of Caleb Nei in the basement of his townhouse. Inspired by the life and psalms of King David, and energized by the innovative worship music of the time, Caleb set out to begin writing worship songs that explored the more creative boundaries of music and lyrics, while incorporating the sounds of the instrument he grew up on - the piano. In 2002, he began to write many of the songs that would eventually become the Save Me EP. With the help of drummer Dustin Martin, who Caleb met on a jazz gig, they began to record these songs with various friends. They traveled to the home studio of Doc Holladay in Nashville during 2007 to put the finishing touches on the EP. Shortly after returning home, Caleb's brother-in-law, Seth Dean, moved back to Winchester from Nashville, following God's calling in his life to help mix the album and eventually to join the band as the guitar player, while continuing to help with much of the band's recording endeavors. Lacking a bass player, Ethan Dean, Seth's Brother, joined the band filling the role, even though his main instrument was drums.
