Join the California Army National Guard band. Most bandmembers work one weekend per month and two weeks during the summer. Our main mission is to respond to natural and man made disasters like fires, floods or earthquakes within the state of California but we also have a secondary mission which sometimes calls for us to serve around the world. As a bandmember your mission will be different, you'll play at formal and informal events. An example would be when the state governor visits the local area, you'd play for his or her arrival and departure or at any events that they've requested. OR we can train you in 1 of over 160 careers in the Guard, from Military Police to Mechanic, Communications to Cook and everything in between. Most of our soldiers continue to work at their civilian jobs while supplementing their income through their part time service with the National Guard.
