electroscope/electrophorus Video Clips. Duration : 3.43 Mins.

All the appliances in this video and all videos on this channel are designed and created by me. First the electrophorus: it is a very useful device and is simply a capacitor with a removable plate (all plates are aluminum). The bottom plate is earth grounded and this allows the electrophorus to maintain a charge almost indefinitely. this is great for operating electroscopes and charging up my Wimshurst ( when not in use for a long periods). If the electrophorus should lose it's charge, simply rub the nylon block with a latex clove or even a paper towel will work. The rubbing will electrically charge the block. Because of the material (nylon) used in this electrophorus, the removable plate is always positive. The electroscopes and I have many different styles, are made with material found around the house. The brown material in the bottom of the plastic jars is sand/cooking oil mix to help keep them stable. The leaves are aluminum foil. I have made the top charge collectors changeable for different applications. If anyone wants to build or has a question for any of these appliances shown on my channel, you can post a message to 1011basic or post a comment at the video you are interested in and I will do my best to help. Any appliance in my videos can be replicated by all and make good projects for school or home. The appliances in this video are powered by static electrical forces ONLY. BOB
