VARIATIES....****KRAAYENHAGEN-JASKI**** CASTILSABAS HUESCA SPAIN AGOSTO 2008Many ..... times I ask myself in the long hours of work in the studio if my work is useful for others? The answer is not for me to answer, but for others. Is it only for satisfying one's *ego*, I ask myself.....? Also I question the state-of-the-art at the beginning of the 21st century..... Regarding the first question, I am not the one that decides the answer, it is others who decide, is Art useful or not. Regarding the second question I have the feeling that art in its evolution, has almost lost all content relating to its original purpose, the reason for which art was created in the first place, if it was created for something and by somebody in particular? To speak of information or beauty in art for many today sounds *decadent* or *archaic*...., their remains almost nothing of the art of yesterday in creativity today, possibly only the name, ART. In this second reflection, two strong tendencies are unified inside me:- the first, the impossible illusion to return to the *renaissance* or to the *baroque*, and the second, to assume the responsibility of the *contemporary* in me, with the understanding, sad or not, that I probably form part of *cynisism* that is breathed today in the art. The conclusions for me for this 2008 have been fantastic, with exhibitions in London, Ireland, France and returning in August to exhibit in England, besides three group shows in France.
